This New Year’s there’s an amazing trip-of-a-lifetime that lets you ring in 2010 not once, but twice.

Fly off on Boxing Day to Auckland and arrive at the Westin Auckland Lighter Quay. Visit their amazing spa, or explore the city’s sites such as a traditional Maori performance. Of course, you can do all of this; if you ever start to feel worn out, the Westin have their own trademarked ‘Heavenly Beds’ which are, well, heavenly.

On December 31, the Westin, is ideal for watching the fireworks over the Harbour Bridge as you sip on a bubbling glass of champagne to welcome in the new year for the first time.

After the revelry of your sparkling city celebrations, you’ve got time for a few hours of rest (remember that ‘Heavenly Bed’…) before your time travel trip to Aitutaki Island. Leave Auckland on January 1, 2010, and by the time you get to the island, it will be December 31, 2009. Pretty neat.

Now that you’re in 2010 (again), spend a few days relaxing on the island. Try out some water sports, and be sure to spend some time in the fantastic spa getting a massage or a facial, or both. Then it’s back home to tell all your friends about your blockbuster new years. Who said time travel was impossible?
