We are going camping and there will be a total of 12 kids and 5 adults and will be camping Friday night until Sunday late morning. We are having cereal and bagels as an option for two breakfasts. How much milk should we get? I think 2 gallons but some one else said 5 gallons. I think 5 is way too much.

6-8 gallens
12 kids it will just be gone fast
How about 3 gallons then?
i would say at least 3 maybe 4 just to be safe, depends on if they are milk drinkers or not.
How many cooler are you taking?? Check out the servings on the cartons, Just to be safe make sure you have a minimum of 17 servings to cover everyone having a glass.
If everyone eats cereal both mornings and uses the standard, fairly conservative 1/2 cup serving of milk for cereal, that would take one gallon of milk for the weekend. It really depends on how much milk everyone drinks. Some kids drink a lot. A 2nd gallon would allow each kid to have about 10 additional ounces of milk (a little over one cup) for the weekend. Are you in a place where you could easily pick up more if needed (if you run out)?
5 gallons for only breakfast the more meals with milk another 2.5 gallons per meal at 8 oz’s per person
figure on 1 gallon per person per day - so 34 gallons, I’d think.
take no more than 2-3 gallons because of space and a chance you might not keep them cold the whole time, whenever we went camping we only took as much as we could drink in one day and if we needed more we went to the store or just did without
